Pisa is known worldwide for its leaning tower. It really is a quite remarkable structure and its inclination makes it special. So when they started to built this magnificent tower without knowing about instability of the ground - they actually did to the city a big favor. Even though it costs so many troubles to keep it on the ground. But it is so famous and all over the world people wanna come and do the funny "I am holding the tower" pose. I wasn't an exception. I know, it is not very original. But I couldn't resist:).
Pisa isn't just about the Leaning Tower. Like most Italian cities there is also a Duomo (Cathedral). And it is impressive as well.
Accidentally we discovered a very pleasant Botanic Garden in Pisa. "Orto Botanico di Pisa". Here you cant rest from all the tourists and enjoy the beauty of nature. And take some photos of it.
And also it is a nice place for some photo session.:)
The food in Italy, as always, is exquisite. Lots of fine restaurants you can find in Pisa. Our choice was "Trattoria Al Signor Mimmo". They attracted me with their beautiful terrace surrounded with flowers. And it is a quite place, hidden inside small streets of the old town. Very friendly atmosphere. Not expensive and tasty food and wine:P.
For the desert we went to "Vicè Sicilian Taste". I just can't visit Italy without eating my favorite Cannoli. Fortunately you can find it almost in every city of Italy.
Again a bit of posing:).
I like this small and cute retro-style Italian car. Fiat 500. You can see it in any colors everywhere in Europe nowadays. And, of course, in Italy.
And this classic Rolls-Royce just gorgeous.
The River Arno. Beautiful place for a walk in day time as well as after sunset.
Duomo at the evening.
I loved the hotel "Minerva" where we stayed. We had a small, but comfortable and neat room with view on their garden, which is a very wonderful place to relax and have breakfast. Great service and location. I recommend it:).
I definitely will go back to Pisa. Especially I wanna see now the Luminara, the San Ranieri festivities, which takes place on the evening of June 16. It must be spectacular to see it in real life! After sunset, over 70,000 candles are set inside wooden frames fitted onto the buildings along the Arno river and lit, which highlight their architectural profiles. We missed it this year but I hope we will not miss it in 2018.
